Sound Vibration – The Miracle Healing

As I waited to board the plane, the desk attendant announced an indefinite delay in the flight. One lady stormed upto the desk and began shouting, “This flight must go on time!” She screamed and cursed the attendant for about ten minutes. Then she just walked right up to me and with anger and suffering in her eyes, yelled, “I want you to tell me, why this is happening to me? Why am I suffering so badly? Why is God doing this to me?” I asked her to sit down and relax. She then told me her story; her husband and children had all died. Somebody cheated her of her house, and property. And now, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was going to die within a month. She was told that in Mexico there was a cancer clinic, and if she couldn’t make it by that night, she would have to postpone the appointment by six months, due to the waiting list. This flight meant life for her and missing it meant a sure death. She lamented at the terrible deal she got in life.

I calmed her, “There’s nothing you or I can do about it. You have no choice about what has happened. But you do have the choice of response. If you look at it as something negative, you are just going to suffer and make everyone around you suffer. But if you look for a positive opportunity in it, you can find hope and meaning. You could come closer to God and find happiness in this situation. That’s your choice. This is an opportunity. Our souls are eternal and due to our past actions we are put under so many situations, but the decisions we make now is what’s going to determine our future. So why not turn to God sincerely and thank God for the opportunity? You have to die today or tomorrow. A great life is not a life that’s necessarily long. A great life is a life of quality. Better one moment of full consciousness of God than a long life of forgetfulness. If you are not hungry, you cannot really digest food. Now you are hungry. You are starving. Fill yourself with grace.”

With tears in her eyes she asked me the way to turn to God. I explained, “God is non-different than His name. Chant His name”. I reasoned she was in the most perfect position to chant God’s name and access God’s Mercy. I wrote on a paper,

I wanted to let her chant in privacy; so I left, making an excuse. A few hours later the departure announcement was made. It was a miserable two hour flight, with the bathrooms locked, no electricity, a little bit of light and no air, since the windows were closed. The systems had failed. Everyone in that plane was frustrated, except her. The whole time she had that paper and was constantly chanting and beaming. After the plane landed, she called out to me and smilingly confessed, “I’ve never felt so happy, peaceful and close to God in my entire life. It doesn’t matter if I live or die now. I have this Mantra and I feel close to God. I’m feeling the blessings of God more than I’ve ever felt. This Mantra has transformed my life. You saved my life!”

Even others in the flight were amazed at her transformation; from the most miserable person, she was now the most blissful.

This is the power of sound, the power of the name of God. The Holy Names can lead us from utter suffering and hopelessness to happiness and unlimited hope, from darkness to light. Her name is Dorothi. I was told later that ‘Dorothi’ is a Latin word, which means ‘one who has received the blessings of God’.

In this age of Kali, the most effective and powerful means of awakening our original spiritual consciousness, is the chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra. Krishna means all-attractive. The name Krishna also includes all other names of God. The chanting will liberate our hearts if we chant with a proper motivation and a consciousness of servitude. The holy name can cleanse the heart and awaken that divine love that we are always searching for. This is the prime benediction for humanity at large.
